View the Order issued on 29th October 2019 Regarding Promotion/financial upgradation
The Central Govt employees who are getting two increments (promotional increment and annual increment) on 1st July due to promotion or MACP, will be eligible for their next increment on the following 1st January.
The Department of Expenditure has issued an important date of next increment clarification order on 29.10.2019. As per the content of the order, employees who are getting promotion/financial upgradation on 1st July and receiving the benefit of two increments i.e. the first annual increment due on 1st July and the second notional increment on account of promotion, will accrue their subsequent increment on the following 1st January, after completion of six months period.

Promotion or MACP Pay Fixation Example
An employee’s pay scale is Rs. 35,900 in the pay level 5 of the pay matrix table. He got a promotion on the date of 1.7.2019 and he is upgraded to pay level 6, his salary will be fixed as per existing annual increment rules for CG employees…
Step 1: He will first be given one increment in his current level 5 on account of promotion or MACP (Rs. 37,000)
Step 2: Again he will be given another increment in his current level of 5 on account of the annual increment (Rs. 38,100)
Step 3: Then he will be placed in the pay level 6 (either equal or higher value) (Rs. 38,700)
Step 4: His next annual increment date will be 1.1.2020 (instead of 1st July 2020).
