List of Closed Holidays and Restricted Holidays for Central government employees in Tamil Nadu for the Year 2019
As per the decision taken in the meeting held on 27.11.2018 by the Central Government Employees Welfare Co-Ordination Committee (CGEWCC) Chennai Division, the list of closed holidays for the year 2019 for the Central Government Offices in Tamil Nadu during the year 2019.
The Executive Secretary R.Goplsamy signed and published an orders on 30th November 2018 regarding the list of closed and restricted holidays for Central Government Offices in Tamil Nadu for the year 2019. The following holdiays are declared by CGEWCC, Chennai
- Pongal – 15.1.2019
- Ganesh chaturthi – 2.9.2019
- Dussehra – 7.10.2019
Also decided in the meeting that “If the dates of any of the above mentioned 4 holidays as per para 5.2. of the above list of Holidays are changed by the State Governemnt, it will be deemed date for the holiday suo moto for all the Central Government Offices in Tamil Nadu instead of separately declaring it as holiday.” [DoPT O.M. F. No.12/2/2018-JCA-2 Dt. 11.7.2019] 5.2 For offices outside Delhi / New Delhi, the Central Government Employees’ Welfare Coordination Committees at the State Capitals are authorised to change the date of holiday, if necessary, based on the decision of the concerned State Governments / Union Territories, in respect of ldu’l Fitr, ldu’l Zuha, Muharram and ld-e-Milad.
